The start of a new day can be very difficult especially after a weekend or a long holiday. There is a myth that says; the way how you start your day has an effect on the rest of the day. Funnily enough this myth seems to be true. If you start the day by waking up late and rushing to work, there is a great probability that something bad will happen on your way to work to make you even more late. This will be followed by a call from your boss for a word or two in his office, most probably warning you that if you come late again you will be fired….Forget about it. This blog post is intended to list 5 tips that will help you start your day on a more positive note.
Wake up earlier
If you wake up late, you tend to rush things and will start the day hassled. If you wake up earlier, you will have time to have a shower and prepare the stuff for work.
Eat a healthy breakfast
Make sure that before you go out for work you have a healthy breakfast. The breakfast should contain the right mixture of vitamins, proteins, carbohydrates and fats to start of your day in a healthy way. You can read more on healthy eating here: What Everybody Ought to Know About Eating Healthy
Do some basic stretching or exercise
A very effective way how to be healthy and start your day on a positive note is to do basic stretching or exercises. Starting off the day with basic exercises such as jogging on the spot, crunches, and push ups, will make you feel better throughout the whole day. If you exercise frequently, it will relieve you from injuries such as neck and back pain.
Drive to work early
Waking up early enough to have time to drive carefully and slowly to work. This will help you avoid road accidents. Also if you are late you will get stressed if you find traffic jams, since you know you will be more late than ever. Road rage ensues. If you are early you will have plenty of time allocated for any unforeseen delays while you are on your way to work.
Arrive at work early
If you arrive early to work you will have time to make a cup of coffee (or tea as you prefer) and have sometime to chat before delving into work. Also you will have plenty of time to prioritise tasks to be done during the day, without any hassle from others in the office.
Finally, one wise man (Benjamin Franklin) once said: “Early to bed and early to rise makes a man healthy, wealthy, and wise.”
