It pays to be early for an important meeting or conference. There are several advantages of being early and this post is going to highlight 3 of them. Make sure that next time you will be early to benefit from the advantages listed below.
You have the opportunity to socialize
Before the meeting kicks off, you will have the opportunity to meet in person with some of the people participating in the meeting or conference. This will allow you to socialise and make contacts that are valuable. If you arrive 20 minutes early you can easily exchange email with distinct speakers, enabling you to later on contact them for further information.
You choose the best place
If the conference or meeting is seated, by arriving early you will automatically have the option to choose from all the seats. The more late you are the less option you have. Sitting in front rows enable you to understand more, give feedback and also be the first to speak to the person delivering the meeting after the meeting or conference is over.
You settle down
Early arrivers have enough time to settle down, put their mobile phone to vibration mode and have everything ready to take notes: it can be a laptop or papers on which to write notes. This can be done comfortably without worrying about making noises.
